I love being a mortgage broker because I get to meet new people and play an integral role in getting them into their new home. Part of that role is being a trusted partner and advisor -- something I wish my family would have had over the dozen times we have moved during 32 years of marriage.

With my husband and two children I have lived in Calgary, Edmonton, Grande Prairie, and Halifax, as well as stints in Bolivia, Cyprus, and Italy. In 2004 we returned to Calgary and put down our roots here. We enjoyed moving around a lot during those years, but it wasn't until recently that we realized our bank had failed to share valuable information about things like porting (moving) mortgages and CMHC insurance to a new property. This is info that could have saved us thousands of dollars, as well as peace of mind. Truth be told, we didn't really understand the mortgage documents at the time, and were relying on the bank to be our advisor. This is part of the reason why I am so vigilant in helping my clients now.

Over the years I have run many businesses, including a book-keeping service, a Pizza Shop, and the first Fabutan east of Ontario. I love the nature of small business, and have always very much enjoyed the interactions and ongoing relationships developed with clients. This continued once I became a mortgage broker.

My children have now left home, and I live with my husband and two dogs -- a lively Loenberger named Kitty, and an extremely patient English Bulldog named Rosie. They keep me young!
